Calling all current traders,  you should have received a personal copy of the following letter detailing our plans.

 

As you will be aware, the trial period expired on October the first and I am writing to tell you about the exciting plans for taking the scheme forward.

We invested in marketing the scheme through local posters, newspapers, free trade magazines and radio ads.  To date we have over 2000 local card holders. We will be doing much more of this in 2018.

In November we surveyed Love Hoole card holders to gain their feedback on the scheme and here are the results so far…

95% of respondents agreed that a community card scheme was a good idea.

Over 50% of respondents say they are spending more in Hoole as a result.

We will continue to email a bulletin to all the cardholders every fortnight.  This is your tool for reaching out to the cardholders who are not yet your customers.  We ask you for offers each fortnight, and these are added to the email bulletin, the Love Hoole website, and the tablet screens as appropriate.

In addition, all traders can now have a login to the portal and send ad hoc offers direct by email or message to the app or tablet to anyone who has purchased from you. This will also remain free for one message per customer per month and is compliant with the new marketing legislation (GDPR).

We launched the Love Hoole app (android version) earlier this year and we have now rewritten it to work for apple phones too.  The new app also has map views, your venue has an entry on the map with some marketing space for you to promote your business, and users can even use it to navigate to your premises.

One of the issues highlighted by some busy bar staff during the trial was that it added some time to the transaction.  We have a new way of getting around this.  Its called Credit Card Linking.  The Love Hoole scheme members will be the first community of independent traders in the UK to have this facility. Your customers can add their Mastercard or Visa credit and debit cards to their card registration.  From then on they will receive their points at participating venues each time they use their bank card with no need for you to enter the purchase value into the tablet. It will even work with contactless Android and Apple pay for your tech savvy customers It will be subject to a transaction charge when rolled out across the UK,  but it’s free in Hoole for a trail period – 1st quarter 2018.  To learn more check out the video on www.lovehoole.com

We already have new venues waiting to join up.  We plan to expand the scheme from the current trial group and make it available to everyone who runs a business in CH2.

We created a “lite” version of the product which means that businesses with low volumes of transactions (such as therapy providers, spa’s,  dog groomers etc) can still be part of the scheme and simply enter cash transactions via their own phone or laptop, wherever they are working.  We trialled this with Sarah at Silver linings – its ready to go for anyone who needs it.

As you know, your customers can opt to donate their points to charity. For 2017/2018 all points donated will be paid for by Loyalty Pro.  We have just given our first donations to both Claire House and the community centre, look out for the press article.  If there is another local charity or not-for-profit close to your heart you can nominate them.

We plan to market the scheme nationally under the name Clinkpoints.  Hoole will be the centre point case study for the national PR campaign scheduled for the first quarter of 2018, great publicity for the area!

The scheme is designed to help you, the trader, to continue to provide high quality local services to local people and visitors by giving you the tools to compete with the big supermarkets and online giants. We hope you’ll support us by signing up as a full member. The subsidy in Hoole means that you will pay less than £5 a week for all of this including a tablet on your counter, or  less than £2.50 a week if you are a “lite” user.
